Te Reo Māori

Hello everyone. l am going to tell you 13 Māori words that you would use in the bathroom.


Heketua - toilet

Wharepaku- room with separate toilet (not the actual toilet)

Hīrere- shower

Whēru- toilet paper

Whakaata- mirror

Tauera- towel

Kōrere wai- tap/faucet

Puoto- sink/basin

Hopi- soap


Here are some sentences using these kupu…

1. Tītiro ki te whakaata = Look at the mirror.

2. Tukua te wai = Flush the toilet (or flush with water).

3. Horoia ō ringaringa = Wash your hands.
